Buck Owens and the “Streets of Bakersfield”

I know…I know music does not belong on a food site. At least that was the opinion of most of the people who took part in the poll I set up concerning the “issue”. Of course not that many people took part. None the less I dropped the music portion of the blog. However I just felt compelled to add this video. I am a big fan of Buck Owens and Dwight Yokam; and I especially enjoy this particular tune. And this is an older version, without Dwight. It also fits right in with my Bakersfield on Mass. Ave. post. So, humor me. After all I am a frail old man with just a few simple pleasures. Sharing a meal with a friend, an occasional cold beer and a good tune. ( Cue the violin ) If you are at all familiar with the newer version you might notice some different lyrics. Enjoy.

I’ve never heard this version before. I just found your blog and I’ll be back. Music, food and guns. Life is good.
